The introduction of biologics has transformed the management of many conditions seen in primary care. As the patent for these medications expires, the introduction of a number of biosimilars will transform the delivery of these medications. This presentation will summarize the differences between biologics and biosimilars, examine the key issues from clinician, pharmacist and payer perspectives, and explore how pharmacists can promote their knowledge in this area to other professionals in order to acquire more patients.
